27 [Betsileo] Peau de la banane : après séchage, on la fait brûler ; la cendre obtenue mélangée à de la graisse animale sert à faire un onguent auquel on attribue de grandes vertus ; on l'applique surtout en maturatif sur les abcès ; dans le traitement de la gale. La cendre délayée dans l'eau est aussi attribuée en gargarismes contre les maux de gorge, laryngites ; on en fait avaler une petite quantité aux enfants auxquels on vient d'administrer un vermifuge. Contre indication : ne pas en donner aux femmes enceintes, suivant la tradition. Si un étranger a mangé dans l'assiette du chef de famille, on doit purifier aussi celle-ci avec les cendres appelées fondraña. C'est pourquoi ce mot, au sens figuré, signifie purification, réparation d'une profanation (comparer à fondrana, Merina)
